The Art of Slow and Steady

I saw the movie Dune one time, when I was around 10, yet there is a scene and a concept from that movie that I’ve never forgotten. Paul, the main character, is sparring with his weapons trainer Gurney. They fight with knives, but have special body shields for protection. It is the way the body shields function that has stuck with me.

A fast attack will bounce off the shield. The only way to penetrate it is by moving an object slowly through the shield. Think about it.
